The macaques in Wulingyuan have red faces and chubby mascles.Due to the special living surroundings,they are good at climbing the vines and steep cliffs.

Huang Yao Zi
Huang Yao Zi is a small beast in Wulingyuan. It is as big as a dog of one month old.But it is called "the Nimblest of All Beasts" be-xause of its clever and quick actions. They move in groups, even monkeys or tigers cat't get rid of their attack. But they are afraid of tourists.
Bangbang Fish
Bangbang Fish lives in Suoxi Stream. It'sdifficult to catch them because they are agile and often hide under stones. The fisherman beat the stone violently driving the fish into unconscious-ness. Before they come to, they are in the basket of the fisherman.
Yanbang Frong
In summer and autumn near the Gold Whip Stream,you will hear "bang","bang"That's from the Yanbang Frog.They belong to look like frogs.
Giant Salamander
agaiant Salamander is a kind of rare animal in the streams of Zhang-jiajie.It is more than 10cms long .It cries like babies.so it is also called "baby fish"
Otter
Otter or Common otter,looks like a pup and is an amphibious animal livong by the rivers or lakes.It can swim and Lives on fish.
White Snake and Red Snake
There are two kinds of white snakes in Zhangjiajie;one is also called"glasssnake"whose skin looks transparent,the other is covered with silcer scale.which look like jewels, Both white snakes are hypertoxic.
There are also two kinds of red snakes. One is covered with red scales and looks like a red ribbon. The other has a red head and blue body . It's called"Cock Snake"with a cockscomb on its head.
Musk Deer
Musk deer ia a rare animal.It is smaller than deer and has no horn.Musk secreted by male musk deer is very precious.
Racoon Dog
Racoon dogs look like foxes, but are fatter.They live near valleys,mountains and fields.They live on fish, mouse ,frong ,shrimp,crabs and wild fruits.
Flying Fox
Flying Fox has another name for flying squirrel. It is 80cms long. Its four limbs are joined up by a skin membrane by which it xan fly through trees. lt sleeps in the daytime and go out for food at night.
Bu Jian Tian
Bu Jian Tian is another name for mole. tes unique skill is to dug tunnels. Therefore to live underground is most suitable for it.
